Showtime
In the exhibition Showtime, David Smouha brings front and centre, his love of all things larger-than-life. Spanning from the glamour of Las Vegas’ golden era, to iconic figures in music, fashion and even homegrown heroes: Showtime has arrived!
Starting with his personal photographs capturing diverse travels and adventures, David transforms them into captivating visual spectacles through collage techniques and digital abstraction. The resulting artworks are surreal and visually impactful, appealing to a broad audience and art lovers of all ages.
Hailing from Sydney and currently residing in the vibrant glitzy-ness of the Gold Coast, David’s exhibition reflects his Australian upbringing and outward-looking perspective.
Showtime promises an exciting exploration of contemporary photography and digital art that celebrates the extraordinary.
This exhibition will be on show at Petrie Terrace Gallery from Wednesday, 21st February to Sunday, 25th February, 2024.

Coming back to Petrie Terrace Gallery in 2024 is the upcoming Art: Japan exhibition!
An exciting exhibition of over 200 artworks created by 200 of Japan’s most promising artists. All produced entirely in Japan, the pieces exhibited include both 2D and 3D works, along with original artist created merchandise. With works spanning a variety of genres, from pop to modern, kawaii to traditional Japanese, and exploring a range of themes, materials and forms of expression, this exhibition is sure to include something for all art lovers. Although on first inspection, they may seem random in nature, each artist in the exhibition has been carefully selected, through their individuality, to showcase the amazing breadth of Japanese contemporary art.
Mid-exhibition there will be a change over of artworks, as from Wednesday, 13th of March a new batch of Japanese artworks will be on display at the gallery!
The Opening Night will also be held on Thursday, 7th of March at 7pm. This is a free event held at Petrie Terrace Gallery.

Contemplation
Mark is excited to be reuniting with RQAS to present his 6th solo show in four years titled Contemplation. This new exhibition showcases his multifaceted and unique abstract style, and includes semi-realistic landscapes and cityscapes. His vibrant combinations of gouache and acrylics with ink and coloured pencil, elevate his paintings and drawings to a level that’s highly collectible.

Brisbane Landmarks, Landscapes and Personalities 2024
Back in 2024, the ever popular Brisbane: Landmarks, Landscapes & Personalities exhibition will include the popular Paint-out event as well as featuring southeast Queensland's places and people.
Artists are asked to engage with the unique heritage and characters of Brisbane, the surrounding cities and hinterland: from Noosa down to the border and out to the Great Dividing Range, show us what you love about South-East Queensland and its many attractions.
Artists are invited to submit artworks in their own choice of media including both 2D and 3D.

The artworks created for ‘Dreamscape’ are in response to the rise of AI in our lives (No AI was used in the creation of the artworks). Luella wanted to create something purely human, that doesn’t have the taint of the mechanical. Therefore, the artworks are inspired by her dreams.
