Brisbane Landmarks, Landscapes and Personalities 2024

Back in 2024, the ever popular Brisbane: Landmarks, Landscapes & Personalities exhibition will include the popular Paint-out event as well as featuring southeast Queensland's places and people. 

Artists are asked to engage with the unique heritage and characters of Brisbane, the surrounding cities and hinterland: from Noosa down to the border and out to the Great Dividing Range, show us what you love about South-East Queensland and its many attractions.

Artists are invited to submit artworks in their own choice of media including both 2D and 3D.

Dreamscape – Luella Price

The artworks created for ‘Dreamscape’ are in response to the rise of AI in our lives (No AI was used in the creation of the artworks). Luella wanted to create something purely human, that doesn’t have the taint of the mechanical. Therefore, the artworks are inspired by her dreams.

Salon des Refusés 2024

Join the celebration of Brisbane portrait artists and their sitters at the 2024 Brisbane Portrait Prize Salon des Refusés. This annual event aims to encourage public engagement with the arts while showcasing the talents of local portrait artists.

The Salon des Refusés is a partnership between the Brisbane Portrait Prize and the Royal Queensland Art Society, and features works selected by Salon Judges. The exhibition provides excellent exposure for the artists who have entered the Brisbane Portrait Prize but were not selected as finalists.

Brushstrokes of 20th Century Contemporaries: Rigby, Roggenkamp, and de Silva

A retrospective exhibition of three renowned Queensland contemporary 20th-century artists: John Rigby (1922-2012), Joy Roggenkamp (1928-1999), and Frank de Silva (1913-1981). All three artists had ties to the RQAS throughout their careers, enriching the local art scene with their unique perspectives and talents.
