Paradise Palette Art Institute is proud to present Pasifik Horizon, a landmark exhibition bringing together leading artists from Papua New Guinea and New Caledonia in a vibrant celebration of Pacific creativity, identity, and cultural exchange. The exhibition will run from Wednesday, 29th of October to Sunday, 8th of November 2026.

Featuring works by Apa Hugo and Clement Koys (Papua New Guinea) and Stéphane Foucaud (New Caledonia), Pasifik Horizon showcases the dynamic artistic voices shaping contemporary Melanesian and Francophone Pacific art.

PNG artist Apa Hugo, one of the country’s most beloved contemporary painters, presents colourful depictions of village life, birds, animals, and cultural symbolism — a style shaped by his early mentorship under the late Mathius Kauage. Clement Koys contributes bold, modern interpretations of Melanesian identity, exploring cultural resilience and generational knowledge.

New Caledonian artist Stéphane Foucaud brings a striking “neo‑tribal” visual language informed by Kanak land markers, scarification motifs, and syncretic mythologies. His hybrid style blends spontaneous brushwork with fine pen drawing, reflecting the layered cultural landscape of Oceania.

A dedicated Paradise Palette mini‑section will feature selected works from PPAI’s collection, honouring the founding vision of Don Wotton and celebrating the Institute’s mission to elevate Pacific artists and strengthen regional cultural exchange.
