Conditions of Entry

A. Entry fees are not refundable, regardless of whether the artwork is accepted or not.

B. Exhibitors agree to images of their work being reproduced in print and online for promotional purposes,to this end please include a digital jpeg file with your entry.

C. Artworks to be delivered to the Gallery at 3/162 PetrieTerrace, on Bring in Day.

D. Entries must be the original work of the exhibitor. The artwork must not have been awarded a prize in any other exhibition or been exhibited in an RQAS organised exhibition in the last 2 years.

E. All artwork must be suitably presented and ready to be safely displayed. All 2D artwork MUST have D-rings attached as outlined below. Please clearly mark the artist’s name and address, title of work, and price on the back/ underneath work. For 3D artworks entry fee is worked out by size of the artwork base.

F. The combined area of works submitted by one person must not exceed 2 square metres (height multiplied by the width= square metres, for example: 1.3m x 1.5m= 1.95 m2).

G. Artworks will only be displayed at the discretion of the Gallery; entries will be submitted in the category nominated by the entrant.

H. All works need to be easily carried by 1 person.

I. All artwork must be for sale. The gallery will charge 27.5% commission (including GST) on all sales.

J. Entries are accepted, displayed, and returned at the owner’s risk. Freight and insurance are also the owner’s responsibility. All care will be taken, but no responsibility accepted for loss or damage.

K. Entries are to be picked up at the end of the exhibition at time and date shown in ‘Bump Out Day’

L. Works not collected within three months of the exhibition closing date may be disposed of at the discretion of the RQAS Management Committee.

M. The Judge/s decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

N. RQAS reserves the right to not present the prize money if there are insufficient quality of artwork in any section, or if there are fewer than 15 entries in any section.

O. We offer 3 month lay-by options for buyers. Any lay-by not finalised within this time will have the artwork returned to the Artist.

P. Artist will be paid for any sales after the end of the exhibition OR when any lay-by is paid in full.

Q. Any questions artists have during installation must be addressed to the gallery director or their representative.

R. Should any dispute arise where no specific ruling is laid down the committees decision is final.

Hanging your 2D work!

Artworks must be ready to hang using “D” Rings placed approximately 5cm from the top of the frame. RQAS reserves the right to not accept artwork if it is not correctly presented for hanging. All artworks must be clearly labelled with the Exhibition, Artist Name, Artwork Title, Medium and Price. Labels can be printed by downloading the Hardcopy Entry Form above. Please locate your artwork label on the back but hanging below the edge of the painting on the lower righthand corner so it can be viewed from the front.
