In Wayne Singleton’s May exhibition titled ‘Just Quietly Cutting’, you will see his latest linocut prints. Those who saw his 2018 exhibition at Petrie Terrace Gallery will appreciate that Wayne’s work is a very complex and densely layered exploration of our Queensland landscape.
In talking about his work Wayne says, ‘I like quietly observing life, seeing how life forms accommodate each other and the physical structures that surround them. Life that compromises and best adapts to constant change around it; survives, often taking on interesting and unexpected character and form. My printmaking practice makes me be still and it gives me a grounding that comes from reflecting on our relational place in the world; it is a way of appropriately being in it.’
Exhibition Dates: Thursday 6th May to Sunday 17th May
