We invite artists to participate in a new initiative at the Petrie Terrace Gallery.

“Journeys in Art” will be a intriguing show exploring journeys and what it means to you; This can be explored in a range of ways both mundane or profound.  

An artistic journey, showing a series of artworks created over a period or developed around a particular theme. It could be a physical journey made through a place or places. Or even a spiritual or mystical journey through faith or healing.

We look forward to seeing where you take us on this journey!

 

IMPORTANT INFORMTION:

  • You may enter in any media or style and include supporting materials such a sketch books. An A4 artists statement is optional but encouraged.
  • There is no limit to the number of items submitted but they must be able to be displayed in a space no wider than 1.5 meters
  • Those wishing to submit installations or projected works please contact the gallery to discuss your work.

There will be no prizes for this exhibition

ONLINE ENTRY

Conditions of entry:
Artists may enter in any media or style and include supporting materials such a sketch books. An A4 artists statement is optional but encouraged.
Those wishing to submit installations or projected works please contact the gallery to discuss your work.
A. Entry fees are not refundable, regardless of if artwork is accepted or not.
B. Exhibitors agree to images of their work being reproduced in print and online for promotional purposes, to this end please email us digital jpeg file of your entry.
C. Artworks to be delivered to the Gallery at 3/162 Petrie Terrace, on the Bring in Day.
D. Entries must be the original work of the exhibitor.
E. The work must be suitably presented and ready to be safely displayed with the appropriate hardware.Please clearly mark the artist’s name, contact details, title of work, and price on the artwork. For 3D artworks entry fee is worked out by size of the artwork base.
F. There is no limit to the number of items submitted but they must be able to be displayed in a space no wider than 1.5 meters.
G. Artworks will only be displayed at the discretion of the Gallery.
H. All works need to be easily carried by 1 person.
I. The gallery will charge 27.5% commission (including GST) on all sales.
J. Entries are accepted, displayed, and returned at the owner’s risk. Freight and insurance are also the owner’s responsibility. All care will be taken, but no responsibility accepted for loss or damage.
K. Entries may ONLY be picked up after the end of the exhibition.
L. Works not collected within three months of the exhibition closing date may be disposed of at the discretion of the RQAS Management Committee.
M. We offer 3 month lay-by options for buyers. Any lay-by not finalised within this time will have the artwork returned to the Artist.
N. Artist will be paid for any sales after the end of the exhibition OR when any lay-by is paid in full.
O. Any questions artists have during installation must be addressed to the gallery director or their representative.
P. Should any dispute arise where no specific ruling is laid down the committees decision is final.
Displaying your artwork:
Framed artworks and works on canvas must be ready to hang using “D” rings placed so that the top of the loop is approximately 5cm from the top of the frame. Anything less than this will mean the gallery hanging system will be seen when your work is displayed.
Please locate your artwork label on the back but hanging below the edge of the painting on the lower right hand side as seen from the front.
For 3D artworks please place label so it can be seen without lifting the work.
