Dr. Katia Strounina, a scientist and artist, anchors her creative spirit in the tranquil waters of Redland Bay. Her art, a symphony of mediums, is a testament to her insatiable curiosity. Oils swirl, watercolors weep, pencil lines whisper secrets, and sculpted creatures stand as silent witnesses.
However, it is the “WINDSWEPT” collection, a pilgrimage across Europe, that truly captures the essence of her journey. 22 Cities, six countries, a kaleidoscope of experiences distilled into art. The island of Belle Ile en Mer, where the spirit of John Russel, the Australian Impressionist, still lingers, becomes a pivotal moment, a confluence of past and present. Katia’s work is a dialogue between the seen and the unseen, a conversation sparked by the unexpected, where landscapes are reimagined through the lens of abstract thought and playful allegory.
