Entry
- Entry Fee calculated per artwork per section
Section 1: “Mounted & Freestanding”
Artworks mounted on board, stretched canvas, aluminium or sculpture: Entry Fee: $20 ( RQAS Brisbane Members $10)
Section 2: “Works on Paper”*
Works on paper, fabric or other media requiring framing, including watercolours, drawings, photography, prints, or mixed media (*entry fee includes frame supplied by RQAS) Entry Fee: $30 ( RQAS Brisbane Members $20).
Entrants may collect frames from the gallery prior to delivery dates-contact us to arrange or artworks may be delivered unframed and will be framed at the gallery.
1.2 Entry forms can be completed online at www.rqas.com.au OR returned, with the entry fee to: entries@rqas.com.au or Unit 3, 162 Petrie Terrace Brisbane Tuesday 15th March 2022
1.3 The successful completion and submission of this form and payment will be considered as receipt of payment and entry form. The gallery will email you to confirm your place in the exhibition or if we need further information about your entry.
1.4 If the number artworks entered exceed gallery capacity a selection process may be implemented. When all entries have been received, artists will be notified if a selection process will be implemented, and all artists will be advised if they have been selected as a finalist or not.
1.5 Entry fees are not refundable.
1.6 Artwork must not have won a prize in any other competition. Artwork must not have been entered in an RQAS sponsored competition in the last two years.
Delivery
2.1 Artworks to be delivered to the Gallery at 3/162 Petrie Terrace, Brisbane, QLD, 4000, on Tuesday 5th to Thursday 7th April-, 10am – 12pm.
2.1.2 Artworks that will be delivered via post or courier may be sent to Gallery from February 2022.
2.2 If you are not able to deliver during these times please contact the gallery to make alternative arrangements once your entry form has been submitted.
Artwork
3.1 The Artwork must be original work of the exhibitor and not infringe the copyright, moral rights or other rights of any third party. If you are submitting a portrait the entrant must have the subject’s consent to enter the artwork in this exhibition including ensuring they understand the artwork may be displayed to the public.
3.2 Exhibitors agree to images of their work being reproduced in print and online for promotional purposes, to this end please include a digital jpeg file with your online entry or email to entries@rqas.com.au. Save file as “yourname_artworktitle”
3.3 Our gallery is open to the public & they may take photographs of your artwork, you will not hold the RQAS responsible for such photography.
3.5 Each artwork must not exceed 21x30cm, and an additional 15cm is allowed for framing/mounting (i.e. total framed size no greater than 36x45cm).
Free standing sculptural works must not exceed 21x21x30cm
3.6 Entries are accepted, displayed, and returned at the owner’s risk. Freight and insurance are also the owner’s responsibility. All care will be taken, but no responsibility accepted for loss or damage.
3.7 Any questions artists have during installation must be addressed to the Director or their representative.
3.8 Should any dispute arise where no specific ruling is laid down the committee’s decision is final.
Presentation
4.1 The work must be suitably presented and ready to be safely displayed with the appropriate hardware.
4.2 “Mounted” works must be ready to hang on the wall using medium or large sized “D” rings placed approximately 5 to 10cm from the top of the frame, with wire or string between.
4.2.1 “Works on Paper” entry fee includes frame supplied by RQAS, which can be collected prior to artwork delivery, or artworks may be delivered unframed and will be framed at the gallery.
4.2.2 “ Freestanding” works must be ready to be safely displayed on plinth, Entrants are welcome to supply their own plinth or displays- please contact the gallery to discuss
4.3 Clearly mark the artist’s name, contact details, title of work, and price on this artwork
label. Downloadable label to be attached to back.
4.5 Artworks MUST be dry and clean.
4.6 Artworks will only be displayed at the discretion of the Gallery, we will not display artwork deemed unsafe, offensive, or unsuitable.
Sales
5.1 Artwork must be for sale, please allow for RQAS commission and any applicable GST when setting price.
5.2 The gallery will charge 27.5% commission (including GST) on all sales.
5.3 We offer 3-month lay-by options for buyers. Any lay-by not finalised within this time will have the artwork returned to the Artist.
5.4 Artists will be paid for any sales after the end of the exhibition OR when any lay-by is paid in full.
Pick up/Bump Out
6.1 Entries may ONLY be picked up at the end of the exhibition. Bump out is Monday 2nd May 10am-12pm.
6.2 Works not collected within three months of the exhibition closing date may be disposed of at the discretion of the RQAS Management Committee.
Events & Prizes
7.1 Opening Event is Saturday 9th April 11am We request all entrants and their guests book for opening and other events via Eventbrite.
