For our next ‘ART TALKS’ event, the Royal Queensland Art Society Brisbane Branch invites its members and the art loving community to:

“Beyond The Gallery: Art, Community and Connection”

In this presentation and Q&A, Katherine Kemp and Colin Bushell, co-founders of Art & Eats, will examine how they have drawn upon local energy to break down community barriers and build a creative ecosystem, not just an exhibition. They share their successes, the pitfalls and future vision, providing advice on building a model others can follow.

Art & Eats delivers the principle of showcasing creativity, whilst bringing together community beyond the gallery. They believe in partnership before ownership and purpose before profit.

Katherine is the owner of Ruby Red Jewellery and co-founder of Art & Eats. She is also a Jewellery designer, small-business owner, entrepreneur, valuer, gemologist and MBA recipient. Colin runs Colin Bushell Photography and is co-founder of Art & Eats with Katherine. He is also a multi-award-winning photographer, writer and photojournalist; co-founder and former President of The Gap Creative; former Vice President, Professional Photographers’ Association of Queensland.

This talk will be held at RQAS Brisbane Gallery on Sunday, 20th of September from 2pm to 4pm. Afternoon tea is included in the ticket price.
