SUMMARY:Colour and Light
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1523319263370{padding-top: 20px !important;padding-bottom: 30px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nColour and Light.\nA Retrospective Exhibition\nof work by\nAdrienne Gale\n1937—2007. \nYou and your friends are invited to a\nRetrospective Exhibition of her work\nat\nPetrie Terrace Gallery \nOpening Event Thursday 21st March 2019 from 7pm to 9pm\, exhibition continues until Sunday the 31st March \nAdrienne was a visual artist for most of her life\, first as a commercial artist in Sydney in the 50s and then\, after a break to raise her four children\, as a figurative painter in Brisbane. Her formal education was a Diploma at Queensland College of Art\, followed by a Bachelor of Arts from Queensland University\, in the 80s. \nAdrienne’s style of painting was influenced by her studies\, particularly of the Fauves and Impressionists\, together with her love of the beauty of the sub-tropical environment of South East Queensland. \nHer radiant approach to life was reflected in a masterly use of colour\, using oils on linen\, gouache and watercolour to produce vibrant works\, many of which are held in private and corporate collections in Australia\, USA\, UK\, Japan and Greece. \nWorks included landscapes\, genre and life drawing. Landscapes were a significant part of her output and featured scenes\, not only from SE Queensland\, but also from Bundanon near the Shoalhaven River\, Tasmania after a car tour\, Ireland\, UK and France after a walking holiday. \nAdrienne taught painting and life drawing at TAFE\, mentored recently graduated art students and conducted art workshops in Central Queensland. \nShe was well loved by family and friends and has been sorely missed. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row] \n
