Perhaps a bit static and not so vital? \nPerhaps you just want to learn more about rendering or shading the figure? \nClassical Life Class with Scott Breton course covers these essential topics – with group demos as well as one on one tuition in this class working from the nude model \nSuitable for beginners or more experienced drawers \nFor more information or to book click the link below \n[/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”custom” border_width=”5″ el_width=”10″ accent_color=”#d35847″][vc_column_text] \nThe content will be drawing from the model working through the Elements of Classical Figure Drawing from the Form\, Gesture\, Anatomy course. \nWe will cover the following main areas – both separately and then reintegrating them together. \n\nBlocking in and accuracy – key landmarks\, orienting masses in space in relation to each other\, analysing form and gesture in essentials\, in particular the torso\nThinking in Volumes – seeing/feeling and drawing the body as large masses\, and constructing/ depicting subforms using only line.\nDesign principles in the human body (and nature generally) – S curves\, C curves\, and straight lines\, line weight\, harmony and variation\, counterbalance\, extending lines as far as possible\, looking for a major line of design and related lines\nGesture and exaggeration – finding swing and rhythm to the line\, taking the observed pose and exaggerating this slightly\, telling a story with the body – making it move\nRendering – principles of rendering form in light and shade\, types of rendering\, points about rendering in different media\, options for direction of linear rendering\,\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”custom” border_width=”5″ el_width=”10″ accent_color=”#d35847″][vc_column_text] \nAbout Scott Breton: \nScott Breton is a figurative fine artist from Brisbane\, Australia. \nAfter completing a science degree (BSc (Genetics) University of Queensland) and contemplating a career in biotechnology\, Scott committed fully to pursuing art\, continuing a classically leaning arts education and practice begun much earlier. In 2012 Scott won the highly contested A.M.E. Bale Travelling Scholarship\, Australia’s largest national prize for developing the careers of traditional representational artists. This allowed Scott to do further study with contemporary classical artists in the US and Europe\, and has contributed to his view of the relevance of Renaissance thinking and aesthetics in the Arts in the 21st century. \nUsing a range of traditional drawing\, painting and sculpting media as well as exploring digital counterparts to these\, Scott sees plastic composition rather than any particular media as the core of the classical ethos. He is interested in how this sense of plasticity can be utilised by the contemporary artist.
