The Grand Old Lady of the Arts
"The Grand Old Lady of the Arts"is an historical exhbition that has been curated by the Gallery Director RQAS Greg de Silva. The exhibition was instigated to be part of the Q150 celebrations this year, and features artists that have had connection with the RQAS over the last 122 years. Many of these were movers and shakers, and also were instrumental in shaping Qld art to its present day. The exhibition features Vida Lahey, Edward Colclough, Kenneth Macqueen, William Bustard, Charles Lanchaster, Frank Sherrin, Joy Roggenkamp, Frank de Silva, James Wiekeke, L.J. Harvey, Bessie Gibson, Melville Haysom and many more.
When: 30th May to 26th June
Where: Gallery 419, 419 Upper Edward Street Spring Hill. Hours 10.30am to 3.30pm Wednesday to Saturday

Gallery 419
The Society's Gallery, "Gallery 419", is at the corner of Upper Edward Street and Astor Terrace, Spring Hill. Solo exhibitions by leading Qld. artists are featured in the gallery. Exhibitions by major art groups are also shown regularly. Members are able to display their work in the gallery in group exhibitions several times throughout the year. All works are for sale.
Opening Hours: Tuesday-Saturday: 10am-3.30pm (Closed Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays) Closed Public holidays and during Christmas school holidays

Exhibiting your work at Gallery 419
Several of the exhibitions each year (the Annual Exhibition, and exhibitions on specific themes or for specific media) are open for general submission of work by members (subject of course to the work meeting the standards of the Gallery Committee). One or two-person exhibitions are arranged by the Secretary and the Gallery Committee.
