RQAS is the oldest and most influential Art Society in Queensland. It had its inaugural meeting in September 1887, and received the Royal Warrant in 1927.
Most of this State's leading artists have belonged to this Society and have been very active both within the Society as artists and teachers, and outside the Society with their contribution to the development of art at state, national, and in some cases, international level.
Various workshops, seminars and classes are carried out under the direction of established practicing artists and teachers
